SALISH KOOTENAI COLLEGE Health Promotion Specialist in PABLO, Montana

Under general supervision, perform highly skilled and complex work, planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services for the college community, with a focus on health conditions and behaviors that interfere with student success in young adult populations. Working with Center for Prevention and Wellness, and campus health services staff, administer student population-based health assessments; analyze, determine, and communicate priority needs; and ensure that data-driven programs are developed and implemented, based on relevant, measurable, and practical health and learning outcomes. The Health Promotion Specialist supports the CPW department's goals and objectives through a variety of tasks while maintaining a commitment to the mission, vision and core themes of SKC.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health-related discipline (i.e., health education, public health, community health, social services, behavioral sciences) or another closely related field. 1-2 years' experience in health education, health promotion, and/or prevention of health conditions. Experience in a higher education setting and/or public health education role targeting diverse populations is highly desirable. Experience in curriculum design, implementation, and oversight. Cultural awareness, knowledge, and experience working with tribal populations. Travel is required, both local and regional travel and as needed to grantee meetings, or for training/professional development opportunities, and coalition building.
