Job Description:

This position is responsible for the development of independent account business, with emphasis on overall profitability through both new sales and account penetration. Key Results Areas include , but are not limited to, the following:

  • Promote and sell Company braded products and meet brand sales objectives

  • Support customer service activities for regional and/or national chain customers

  • Increase visibility of the Company in the marketplace and maximize market share

  • Perform and/or participate in additional projects and tasks as assigned to best serve the Company

Major Functional Responsibilities include the following:

  • Generate additional business through analyzing sales territory and individual customers;

  • Sample projects with existing and potential customers;

  • Plan general sales strategy including time and territory management;

  • Develop sales approach with individual customers;

  • Conduct effective sales presentations using sales toolkits and other media;

  • Grow sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals;

  • Set up new customer accounts by: determining pricing; working with Credit Department for initial authorization; partnering with internal customers for order taking, deliveries, etc.; performing initial follow-up work with customer(s) ensuring delivery and product satisfaction; and mitigating and/or resolving customer concerns and/or problems

  • Build additional business with current customers through product penetration in order to maximize profitability of individual accounts

  • Minimize accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms

  • Maintain awareness of pricing trends within sales territory, particularly on market driven commodity products to ensure competitive pricing

  • Perform other related duties and/or make emergency deliveries when needed

Physical Requirements include:

This is a field-based sales role that will involve standing, reaching overhead, sitting, and walking indoors and outdoors when servicing business accounts;

Sales professionals will occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs.;

Vehicular travel required up to 75%
