Senior Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Corporate and Foundation Relations in organizing and implementing strategies to increase the level of engagement and maximize the philanthropic support of Miami's top corporate and foundation prospects and donors. In addition, this position will have its own set of metrics corresponding to strategies seeking philanthropic and partnership support of corporations and foundations. Duties/Physical Demands:

  • Assist the Assistant Vice President for Corporate and Foundation Relations in the development of fundraising strategies for corporate and foundation partners. •Identify, cultivate, and personally solicit corporations and foundations. Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects. •Collaborate with campus partners to identify, cultivate, and solicit regional and national foundations to support the mission and priorities of Miami University. •Prepare and present gift proposals to corporate and foundation prospects with the input and assistance of faculty, administrators, and deans, as well as constituent and central development officers. •Build effective working relationship with the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) •Provide consultation and support serving as a point of contact for foundation relations for university colleagues. •Advise and support faculty and administrators in the preparation of comprehensive proposals •Facilitate on campus visits with key faculty members and administrators

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, business development and/or relationship management roles; demonstrated level of leadership.

Desired Qualifications:

Advanced degree; experience working in an educational setting with expertise partnering with corporations and foundations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Outstanding oral and written communications; excellent organization skills and attention to detail; and willingness to travel extensively both on a regional and national level.
