Granville Health System Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technologist in Oxford, North Carolina

Eligible or sign-on bonus. Position Summary: Performs a variety of patient testing in multiple laboratory disciplines and in specialty laboratories, in support of clinical activities at Granville Health System. Responsibilities: Investigates problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow. Monitor#daily operations of the laboratory section or work area. Participates in teams or performs special projects/assignments. Performs non-routine, more complex test procedures including special chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic laboratory tests. Observe test#reactions and provide data. Performs quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratories. Report results to healthcare providers. Consults/confers with healthcare providers regarding test results. Review test results to ensure accuracy of reports and timely correction of errors. May assist section supervisors with the development of new test methods, writing procedures, and staff education. Will participate and contribute to the laboratory performance improvement program in order to improve skills, lab productivity, communication and teamwork within the hospital. Qualifications of MT: Requires Bachelors of Science Degree. Requires MLS/MT (ASCP) or MT (NCA) or MT (AMT) certification. Qualifications of MLT: Associates degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Medical Laboratory Technician. If Associate#s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technician, must be ASCP or AMT Board of Certified. New Graduates are encouraged to apply.
