Granville Health System Echo/Vascular Ultrasound Technologist in Oxford, North Carolina

Position Summary:#Performs a variety of cardiac testing, including echocardiology, stress echo, Cardiac Doppler and treadmill stress testing. Records and documents appropriately. Performs echocardiograms including but not limited to M-Mode, 2-Dimensional, conventional and/or color flow Doppler and TEE Echocardiogram. Maintains current registry in either ARDMS or CCI. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Duties:# Perform transthoracic echocardiography, including regular, contrast and Dobutamine types, as a separate procedure in conjunction with Cardiac Stress Testing procedures to aid in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease or abnormalities; select the appropriate transducers for the specific examination; select and store images for diagnosis by the cardiology staff; assist the cardiology staff with performing these testing procedures as required. Responsible for performing 2-D and M-Mode echocardiograms with Doppler flow studies and Doppler color flow velocity mapping. Duties associated with this position include: positioning and transferring patients and providing for patient safety; selecting equipment for use in cardiac sonography; adjusting equipment controls; and preparing records of functional, anatomical and pathological data. # Qualifications: Work requires a degree or certificate from an AMA approved school in an allied health field with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics and diseases of the vascular and cardiovascular systems. Work requires knowledge and experience in ultrasound imaging, Doppler and Color flow techniques; must have ability to properly operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at a level generally acquired during six to twelve months of on-the-job training and/or experience. Associates in a medical related field are required. Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasonography or have equivalent experience as defined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers, in order to be registry eligible. # #Pursues programs of continuing education consistent with the requirements of the RDMS and Granville Medical Center. 2. Work requires knowledge and experience in ultrasound imaging, Doppler and Color flow techniques; must have ability to properly operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at a level generally acquired during six to twelve months of on-the-job training and/or experience. Preferred:#Registered Cardiac Sonographer/Cardiovascular Technology; vascular technology required, and registered or registry eligible (ARDMS, CCI/NBCVT) preferred. #
