Carmeuse Americas Yager Materials - Paving Laborer in OWENSBORO, Kentucky

Duties

  • Pushes and pulls asphalt rake to level asphalt to grade specifications.

  • Traffic Control- flagging and placement/disassembly of traffic control measures (Signage, Barrels, Cones, Barricades, etc.)

  • Smooths freshly poured asphalt, shovels asphalt or aggregate.

  • Hooks up trailers, fastens attachments to equipment.

  • Perform housekeeping duties of the worksite, equipment, vehicles, shop.

  • Collection of scale tickets from drivers

  • Spotting dump trucks/equipment into position

  • Assisting with insuring grades are meet per specifications

  • Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

  • Equipment operation training provided

Responsibilities/Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or ability to pass in-house test

  • Commitment to safety, having a positive attitude toward safety policies

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

  • Able to work outdoors in extreme conditions, such as heat, cold, and humidity.

  • Able to physically perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (occasional excess of 50 lbs)

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time

  • Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project/jobsite.

  • Able to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and overtime as needed.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred)
