Lockheed Martin Program Quality Engineer, Staff in Owego, New York

Description: As a Hardware Quality Engineer, you will be focused on the performance of our hardware engineering team, ensuring a quality product is planned, designed, produced, and delivered to meet our customer requirements.

Support OneLM Transformation of a NEXT-GEN Program, establishing relatively new technical/production product baselines that will be developed and executed in a Model-Based Environment (MBE) across the program lifecycle.

This role will be expected to perform the following duties for the Quality organization:

• Ensure process compliance of the Hardware Development Process Implementation, starting with requirement derivation through product integration into production.

• Support proposal activities.

• This position will also require the quality oversight of hardware development subcontractors.

• Utilize Digital Transformation, including model-based engineering, test automation, and Agile development processes to verify requirements and develop work products.

• Provide hardware quality support for program peer reviews, hardware process audits, integration & test, and functional requirements sell-off

• Lead lifecycle development phase transition audits.

• Develop and analyze hardware quality metrics.

• Interface with the customer on program activities to ensure processes and products comply with contractual requirements and company policies and procedures.

• Possibility of travel supporting hardware quality oversight of developmental suppliers.

• Participate in Peer Review of the Hardware Development Plan, ensuring contractual requirements (e.g., UID, serialization, specifications), use of engineering command media, and reflections of best practices are properly reflected.

• Plan and execute periodic surveillance of adherence to the Program Hardware Development Plans.

• Verify compliance of Hardware Engineering work products to DO-254 processes and support Stages of Involvement (SOI) throughout the development lifecycle.

• Monitor Proto-type and Pre-production builds, communicating with the Production Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineer. Identify defects and process bottlenecks that may be design-related.

• Assist production quality engineering with root cause analysis and corrective action generation for design-related defects, and ensure corrections are incorporated into the Technical Data Package, where appropriate, and lessons learned incorporated into Engineering Quality checklists as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hardware Engineering or equivalent experience / combined education in this field.

• Have knowledge of AS9100D Quality System and pertinent Quality practices.

• Experience with system/hardware development lifecycle process, product evaluations, and process audits.

• Effective communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) and ability to effectively communicate and interact with Systems and Hardware Engineering and other stakeholders.

• An understanding of audit techniques.

• Ability to review drawings and specifications against standards.

• Ability to travel

• Ability to obtain a security clearance to at least the Secret level.

• Experience and demonstrable proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Proficiency in database skills.

• Experience/knowledge of the Agile design approach.

Desired Skills:

• Basic knowledge of workmanship standards such as IPC.

• Familiar with Military Standards.

• DOD customer experience.

• Working knowledge of DO-254 processes.

• Perform independent verifications aligned with Hardware Quality processes.

• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

• Knowledge of DOORS, JIRA, Teams, Confluence, and Cameo Modeling Tools.

• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and Standards.

• Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $100,400 - $192,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $115,500 - $217,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
