Salvation Army Thrift Store Worker - FT in Owatonna, Minnesota

Position Summary The Store Associate at The Northern Division Salvation Army Owatonna Thrift Store is responsible for ensuring customers and donors have a positive experience visiting the store. The Associate processes donated goods, stocks merchandise, and assists customers shopping and checking out. Full time, $12/hour 1810 South Cedar Ave Essential Functions Store Associates will be cross trained in all essential functions. The associate may perform a variety of essential functions throughout their shift or be assigned to a few specific essential functions. Create a positive, enjoyable shopping and donation experience for customers and donors. Accurately, efficiently, and quickly operate the cash register. Process, sort, clean, hang, organize, and bail merchandise. Stock and maintain merchandise on the floor to increase product visibility and sales. Process donation drop-offs, assist donors with unloading donations, and issue receipts. Perform light cleaning throughout the store. Assist customers with loading purchases as requested. Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required. Customer services and/or retail experience preferred. Basic math skills required and previous experience handling cash a plus. Must pass background checks. Competencies Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. High level of initiative and self-motivation. Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize. Working Conditions Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk, bend, stand, lift, and carry. Must be able to regularly lift 40 pounds and occasionally 60 pounds. Must be able to communicate clearly in English. Not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Travel Requirements None.
