Actalent is seeking an Estimator!

Description:

Contract-to-hire position through Actalent, supporting KC Window Film (KCWF). KCWF is a full-service provider of energy-saving, decorative, and security films for the commercial markets. In addition, the company provides graphic design and printing services for wallcoverings, glass, and signs.

  • Meet with existing and potential customers to determine their needs.

  • Develop strategies and solutions to meet customers' stated goals.

  • Develop strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, architectural and engineering firms so KCWF's services can be specified and preferred.

  • Perform onsite surveys in existing facilities to determine the exact scope of projects.

  • Perform onsite measurements of affected surfaces (e.g., glass, walls, etc.) to generate accurate cost estimates and prepare detailed proposals for presentation to customers.

  • Identify installation challenges and communicate them to management and operations staff. (e.g., obstacles, working height, security requirements).

  • For new construction projects, be able to read plans and specifications to determine the appropriate products for each job.

  • Analyze each project to identify and quantify materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete the project.

  • Generate accurate cost estimates and review with management as needed.

  • Provide the customer with a comprehensive proposal to execute the work.

  • Collaborate with production and operations personnel to convert the customer's exact needs and the scope of each project.

  • Learn KCWF's products and services.

  • Stay up to date with new products and services as well as industry trends.

  • Maintain a steady backlog of projects.

  • Attend staff meetings and communicate current bid/proposal backlog to allow for manpower planning.

  • Adhere to KCWF's policies and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have:

  • Strong communication skills-follow ups, client facing

  • Experience reading architectural drawings or construction blueprints

  • Strong computer skills

  • Associates in engineering technology or construction technology preferred
