Actalent Controls Engineer in Overland Park, Kansas

Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

Seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join our dynamic consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Siemens TIA Portal 17 and HMI - WinCC 8, with 3-5 years of experience in Siemens and Controls Engineering. This role offers the flexibility of remote work within the United States, with occasional international travel required. The Controls Engineer will primarily support pharmaceutical clients, so familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems using Siemens TIA Portal 17 and HMIWin CC 8.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and automation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.

  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure optimal performance.

  • Provide technical support and training to clients and team members.

  • Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.

  • Travel internationally (15-20%) to support project installations, commissioning, and client meetings.

  • Programming in standalone HMI WinCC 8.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in Siemens and Controls Engineering.

  • Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal 17 and HMIWin CC 8.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

You can choose to work locally in Kansas City and report to the office in Lenexa, or work fully remotely from anywhere in the US. There will be occasional travel to the client site in Seoul, South Korea. You will be part of a team of about 30 Controls Engineers, working on diverse, project-based assignments primarily focused in the pharmaceutical industry.
