TEKsystems Security Practitioner in Ottawa, Ontario

Description:

A large and high-visibility project within the Government of Canada that is at it's infancy stage. The team lacks security expertise to ensure project meets GoC security standards & guidelines.

Top requirements:

  1. 10+ years in IT security as a Security Practitioner providing subject matter expertise by creating security design architectures to ensure security of IT systems & networks. Knowledge with of but not limited to:

  • IT security controls (ITSG-33) and applicable safeguards

  • Assessment of security in High Level Design and Detail Design documentation and assessment of build books

  • Assessment of security threats

  • Assessment of mitigation strategies

  • Assessment of residual risk

  • Assessing providing security subject matter expertise by creating security design architectures and streamlining processes

  1. 5+ years creating IT Security artefacts & implementing security guardrails & controls for large network (LAN, WAN, or WIFI) enterprise implementation projects including:

  • Integration of Security throughout a project lifecycle

  • Experience managing the IT Security Readiness in the Government of Canada from project initiation through Authority to Operate

  • Collaboration with multiple clients, business lines, & stakeholders

  1. Two (2) + projects supporting the Federal Government leveraging ITSG-33/ITSG-38 standards and guidelines to manage IT Security Readiness from project initiation to Authority to Operate (ATO)

  2. Secret Clearance
