The Batch Plant Operator Lead role is based in Ottawa Ontario and reports directly to the Area Operations Manager.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Directly supervise all hourly employees working from the assigned Ready-Mix plant. This includes ensuring compliance with safe work procedures, cleanliness of yard and facilities, and effectively dealing with employee relations issues.

  • Accurately proportion cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures in batches to load into ready mix trucks.

  • Work with Production, Transportation, and Dispatch departments regarding material delivery.

  • Responsible for keeping accurate weight, measure, and billing information to ensure proper crediting to customer.

  • Checks inventory control of raw materials, concrete additives and/or specialized materials and notifies appropriate suppliers of production needs.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations as it relates to the proper operation of batch plant equipment.

  • Responsible for daily inspection of facilities and completion of maintenance checklist.

What we are looking for:

  • 3 years Ready Mix plant experience

  • Supervisory/Lead experience preferred

  • Maintenance experience a plus

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role which often includes bending, stooping and heavy lifting

Work Environment:

  • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
