Cabela's Retail Overnight Clothing Processing Supervisor, FT in Ottawa (Kanata), Ontario

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, Softlines, the Overnight Clothing Processing Supervisor provides daily direction to the team members working the overnight shift within the retail store, to include: sales floor replenishment, merchandise presentation, seasonal resets, inventory management and price change execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on processing and readying received clothing from vendors and presenting them for the sales floor.

  • Delegates tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise direction and follow up to ensure proper execution.

  • Ensure adherence of all standard operating procedures and processes by team members, following up to provide training and guidance when needed.

  • Maintains visual presentation standards including in-store signage, proper execution of merchandise directives and planograms, merchandise recovering/front facing and general daily recovery ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.

  • Ensures nightly replenishment of sales floor from backstock inventory, as well as new replenishment from the Distribution Centers and direct vendor deliveries.

  • Supports inventory management in partnership with the Inventory Control team by completing on demand counts, empty peg scanning, pick requests, display integrities, etc. during off peak business overnight.

  • Supports the AGM with coordination of all “Special Events”; maintenance of pricing and UPC integrity; determining proper assortments; accuracy of inventory; proper display, tagging, signing, and pricing of all advertised items.

  • Supports the AGM in carrying out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, measuring and evaluating performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems, maintaining a positive, harassment free working environment for all associates.

  • Assists the AGM and site Human Resources to staff the department with “service” oriented associates; participates in interviewing and makes recommendations for selection; coordinates training; consults with AGM and gives input on preparation of performance appraisals; prepares weekly work schedules; coaches and motivates associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.

  • All other duties as assigned within scope.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or equivalent,

  • Years of experience: 2-4 years in a retail environment, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Availability to work overnight shifts.

  • Ability to read and analyze reports.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from Managers, team members, customers and the general public.

  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.

  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and inventory management systems.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, team members, customers, and internal cross-functional partners.
