The Office of Admissions at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full time Assistant Director.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Admissions and Marketing and Communications. Work with Marketing to ensure the Admissions Office print, video, and online media needs are met and consistent with Oswego standards.

  • Develop and execute a social media marketing plan, creating engaging content for prospective students through video, photography, and other interactive content. Manage student social media interns, and identify new opportunities and best practices for social media and digital marketing channels.

  • Provide editorial support and creative input for email and print communications and the admissions website. Work with the Associate Director to create personalized, integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Work closely with the Slate Analyst on the design and maintenance of admissions assets within the CRM.

  • Assist with day-to-day marketing activities.

  • Conduct a holistic review of first-year applications

  • Present information sessions to audiences on-campus, off-campus, and virtually, and serve as a resource for campus visitors on a regular basis.

  • Manage the process of buying high school junior and senior names. Act as a liaison between vendors and the Admissions Office.[1] [2]

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar capacity within higher education or another related industry/position

  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office

  • Experience using a CRM and familiarity with running email campaigns.

  • Must be organized, an excellent presenter, communicator, and collaborator, and able to work with overlapping project deadlines. Ability to build strong relationships with admissions staff and colleagues across campus and work well as part of a team.

  • Skill and sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they affect the college admissions process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • Three-five years of marketing experience, specifically content writing

  • Excellent oral, written, and social communication skills

  • Experience in admission, marketing & communication, or higher education

  • Experience using Slate
