We are seeking a Test Engineer to join the team at our manufacturing facility in Oshkosh, WI!

The Manufacturing Engineer is will be directly involved in the testing and overall validation of our Industrial products. This person will drive component and system level validation, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions for any issues identified during the validation process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing on our products including the assembly of test systems, wiring, configuring products and load banks, and conducting component and system level tests.

  • Support the development of component and system level Test Plans and Test Procedures.

  • Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for issues identified during the development process, manufacturing process and/or field.

  • Formally document Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, and any technical issues.

  • Drive the resolution of technical issues and escalate significant issues to engineering leadership.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize complex designs.

  • Contribute to facility transformation, technology transfer and ongoing maintenance of mixed model lines or value streams.

  • Implement demand driven principles and strategies that supports operational excellence and long range plans. (Flexibility, Speed & Responsiveness)

  • Deploy standard Generac tools, methodologies, standards, practices and processes.

  • Work closely with shop floor personnel to promote ongoing continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, systems and controls.

  • Responsible for area layouts, process definition, PLC programing, design/selection, justification, and implementation of equipment, programs, and tooling.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology and 3-5 years related experience in the Engineering function within a similar working environment.

  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering / tool design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;

  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills;

  • Experience with the design and development of high power electronics.

  • Experience operating in high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production environments;

  • Hands on experience running tests on complex electronic components and/or systems; including the use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other various electronic test equipment/meter;

  • Experience developing component and/or system level Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports

  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
