Hormel Foods Osceola Foods - Cost Accounting Clerk in Osceola, Iowa

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for covering various manufacturing departments in completing accounting production practices, along with analytical support in meeting plant & company initiatives. This position will also work part time in the invoicing department at DHL. The person in this position:

· Is responsible for accounting for all inventory and production transactions which occur in the assigned departments.

· Reconciles inventories in QAD compared to the physical inventory quantities from the AS400 data collection system and as reported by management.

· Must have the ability to work at a fast pace, handling multiple departments and their associated accounting activities simultaneously.

· Must be willing to proactively seek information from operations management, shipping, and other functional groups to perform daily tasks.

· Completes weekly reporting / reconciliations for management to evaluate to drive actions / results.

· Print, record and distribute invoices, manifest and bill of ladings.

· Prepare paperwork for next day’s shipments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

· High school education or equivalent.

· Strong interpersonal skills and proven success working in team environment.

· Strong verbal communication and time management skills

· Demonstrated proficiency with a PC, Windows and MS Excel, with ability to learn other computer applications

· Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work independently.

· Demonstrated use of strong organization skills and excellent attention to detail.

· Flexible/Reliable/Accountable to work in multiple workstations, spending approximately 60% of your time at Osceola Foods and 40% of your time at DHL Warehouse

Preferred

· Two-years accounting experience

· Experience with QAD, AS/400 Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC), Oracle Financial, and Mainframe systems.
