Position # 805 Physical Therapist

Position # 1173 Physical Therapist Assistant Salary: $21.25-$26.71 based on experience.

Shift: Days: Monday-Friday; typical work day 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:30am-5:00pm, willing to be flexible

JOB SUMMARY Provides physical therapy evaluations and treatments to patients in accordance with physician approved treatment plans. Assures quality physical therapy care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSA. Plans, directs, supervises and treats patients in accordance with physician orders.B. Maintains patient treatment records in accordance with departmental policy.C. Delegates activities of Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides.D. Assists in budget recommendation and preparation.E. Provides assistance in establishing and maintaining effective departmental policies and procedures.F. Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age specific growth, development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.G. Supports and abides by all PHO departmental and safety policies and procedures.H. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Rehab. Services and/or Administrative Team.I. Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center and Mercy Health Network.J. Demonstrates Guiding Behaviors in all interactions with all parties.K. Adapts positively to the ever changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes.L. Documents patient information in the electronic/paper record in an accurate, timely manner.M. Maintains active log-ons/passwords for computer software systems that support patient care and education.N. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSA. Attends departmental/hospital in-services and meetings as required or requested.B. Maintains patient and organizational confidentiality.C. Participates in risk management and continuous quality improvement activities.D. Participation in professional development activities and attends workshops/conferences. E. Practices LEAN concepts to ensure quality patient care and improve customer satisfactionPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSA. Education/Experience1. Graduate of a university approved by the American Physical Therapy Association and hold at minimum a Masters in Physical Therapy.2. Must possess/maintain license in the state of Iowa or be eligible for licensure.3. Prefer at least 2 years of physical therapy practice experience.4. Experience in acute care setting preferred.5. Must have basic computer skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTSA. Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally with customers.B. Must be able to occasionally lift, pull and push over 60 pounds from various positions.C.
