Holtec International Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift in Orrville, Ohio

Essential Job F uncti o ns/Responsibilities:

  • Supports and maintains standards for safety, quality, and productivity

  • Follows and enforces all safety and quality procedures and practices

  • Supports the Nuclear Safety Culture

  • Performs pre-job briefs, toolbox talks, weekly surveillances and turnover updates

  • Observes work and monitor operations to ensure that employees conform to production or processing standards

  • Conducts on-the-job training for new and current employees and verifies monthly training modules are complete

  • Understands and communicates specifications, drawings, work instructions and communicates them to employees

  • Communicates with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments

  • Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequence to meet/exceed production goals

  • Makes suggestions to continual improve processes and engages employees to actively participate

  • Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions

  • Monitors equipment parameters/temperatures throughout the shift

  • Performs minor maintenance or pm activities 

  • Ensures the plant standards of housekeeping are enforced

  • Shuts down plant at the end of the week

  • Monitors attendance, payroll times and cost codes for employees

  • Addresses employee issues, working with HR to resolve concerns

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School or Equivalent Degree

  • 3 + years of management experience in a manufacturing setting preferred

  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) preferred

  • Communication skills to present information to individuals/groups, ability to listen and respond to others

  • Organizational and time-management skills to achieve established goals

  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with others, encourage teamwork and cooperation

  • Leadership skills to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to complete tasks and assignments

  • Must report to work routinely and promptly

  • Read and understand engineering and quality documents such as drawings, procedures, work orders

  • Read and write operating procedures and work instruction/travelers

    Physical Demands:

  • General physical mobility required. Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, and use repetitive motion

  • Ability to stand or sit at a workstation for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs

  • Have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate
