Robert Half International Staff Accountant in ORLANDO, Florida

Description If you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position through Accountemps that you may want to check out. Based in the Orlando, Florida area, this exciting long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity is set in an engaging work place where hard work is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.

Your responsibilities

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

  • Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

  • Be a part of various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Experience with ERP systems

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Proven knowledge of non-profit fund accounting

  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Monthly Accruals experience

  • Command of Accrual Entries

  • Month end closings experience

  • Deep understanding of bank reconciliations

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
