Siemens Energy Senior Financial Accountant in Orlando, Florida

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will work with peers and experienced team members in North America Accounting and Controlling (NA AC) on technical accounting topics. This position is encouraged to grow in the organization. You will assist team members, interact with the business, research accounting guidelines, document accounting positions, and assist with certain governance, close and financial reporting topics. You will support the creation of the stand-alone financial statements and develop an understanding of the US legal entity structure.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support experienced NA AC team members by ensuring application and implementation of approved accounting policies for organizational units and central functions/services, in line with respective legal/regulatory requirements (i.e. IFRS).

  • Support NA AC in ensuring that personnel in North America are trained on accounting updates, new accounting policies and that processes and practices are adjusted as required.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business and central functions/services in North America for all accounting topics.

  • Assist experienced team members with governance over the design and implementation of internal controls.

  • Cooperate with internal partners and external auditors during the regular closing process.

  • Assist experienced team members with ensuring compliance with local accounting, tax, statutory and other applicable regulations in finance and accounting.

  • Contribute to NA AC governance of implementing system changes as required due to global or local changes in regulations or process improvements.

  • Support the business in North America with accounting memos and alignment with internal partners and external auditors.

  • Perform certain closing procedures and prepare internal and external financial statements and financial analysis.

  • Engage in project meetings with project development and investment, mergers and acquisitions, or other relevant business partners while supporting NA AC.

What You Bring

  • College diploma/ University degree in accounting.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in progress.

  • 2 or more years of work experience. Public accounting experience preferred. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.

  • High proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analytical skills, and reasoning to identify key risk factors and drivers.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in owning projects and processes, working independently with minimal supervision.
