CDR Maguire Phlebotomist - Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

The community needs your help! CDR Health Care Inc. is seeking Phlebotomist within the Orlando, FL area. This role will be responsible for drawing blood from patients and answering any questions patients may have to ensure they are comfortable and at ease. The phlebotomist is also responsible for maintaining sanitary work areas to prevent the spread of disease and infection.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare patients before drawing blood.

  • Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process.

  • Verify patient information and labeling blood samples properly.

  • Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas.

  • Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes.

  • Accurately update patient information in the organizations database

  • Help nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws.

  • Work with supervising physicians and always follow their directions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Phlebotomy Certification in good standing required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.

  • The ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to deal with high pressure.

  • Excellent grasp of medical terminology, human anatomy, and testing procedures.

  • Full immunization record must be presented before hire, Covid vaccine not included.

  • Bilingual (Highly Preferred not Required)
