THE ROLE

The company is looking for a Prep Cook to assist in the preparing of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. We are looking for a prep cook who will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. The ideal candidate will be able to function efficiently in a fast-pace, busy environment as a part of the team. Menu is based on seasonal ingredients which, allows you to prep a variety of exciting means throughout the year. This position will report to the Kitchen Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow prep list created by chefs to plan duties

  • Lael and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible

  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking

  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.…

  • Undertake basic cooking responsibilities such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.…

  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.…

  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash

  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines

  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of pre cook kitchen experience in high volume restaurants or equivalent education

  • Excels in a variety of cooking styles and techniques

  • Knowledge of food safety rules and regulations

  • Active ServSafe Management Food Safety Certificate

  • Flexible schedule, mornings, nights, weekends and holidays are required

  • Must meet the minimal criteria in background check

  • Ability to speak, write, read and understand the primary language (s) of the work location

  • Ability to adapt to new systems quickly

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments

  • May work in drastic temperature climates

  • Must be willing travel to work events during holiday, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
