Job Description

The Paralegal, Insurance & Legal plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of insurance-related and legal activities within the organization. They are responsible for managing various administrative tasks related to insurance policies, claims processing, and legal documentation. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of insurance and legal procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Insurance Support:

  2. Assist in the preparation and processing of insurance policies, claims, and related documentation.

  3. Collaborate with customers, vendors, business partners, and insurance providers to obtain and verify information.

  4. Organize and maintain up-to-date records of insurance policies, renewals, certificates, and endorsements.

  5. Respond to client inquiries and provide support in addressing insurance-related concerns.

  6. Review contracts to ascertain insurance requirements and process and provide compliant evidence of insurance.

  7. Review and process invoices.

  8. Legal Assistance:

  9. Assist in reviewing and drafting legal contracts and correspondence.

  10. Assist in the vetting of third party customers and vendors.

  11. Conduct legal research and provide summaries for review.

  12. Administrative Duties:

  13. Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, directing them to the appropriate department.

  14. Organize and schedule appointments, meetings, and deadlines for the insurance and legal teams.

  15. Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as required.

  16. Handle general office tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of daily activities.

  17. Learning and Adaptability:

  18. Willingness to undergo on-the-job training to gain a thorough understanding of insurance and legal processes.

  19. Adapt responsibilities based on the dynamic needs of both departments.

  20. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.

  • Prior experience in insurance support roles is a plus but not required.

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy under pressure.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate various software and databases.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills.

  • Team player with a positive attitude.
