Position Description

Kinder Morgan is the largest independent transporter of petroleum products in North America, transporting approximately 2.4 million barrels per day. The great majority of these products are transported through our Products Pipelines business, which moves gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, natural gas liquids and condensate through about 9,500 miles of pipelines. We also have approximately 65 liquids terminals in this business segment that store fuels and offer blending services for ethanol and biofuels.

Serve as an Maintenance technician to accomplish the maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment related to the movement and storage of petroleum products within the terminal, pipeline and right-of-way.

Essential duties and responsibilities

•Safely and efficiently assist with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment to include valves, gauges, meters, tanks, pumps, motors etc.

•Daily use of computers for communications, training and inventory purposes.

•Compliance with all Company Safety Rules and Regulations while performing all duties, and attendance to all assigned training courses for operations and safety.

•Coordinate with the Operations Department for all maintenance performed.

•Perform periodic inspections of pumps/ motors and fire equipment and loading racks as directed by supervision.

•Perform any duty as assigned by supervision.

•Ability to accept supervision/direction and work cooperatively with other people.

Position Requirements

•High School Degree or equivalent

•3 years in one the following core disciplines – Mechanical, Electrical and PLC knowledge preferred

•A minimum of three years of work experience or apprenticeship performing electrical, or mechanical maintenance activities in at least one of the core disciplines.

•Through successful work history, demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance activities in at least one of the core competencies.

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

•The incumbent must meet the criteria to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) as required by USCG/DHS regulations.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

•Good oral and written communications.

•Basic computer skills (send and receive email, perform inventory accounting, and enter repair work orders)

Working conditions:

•Work rotating shift schedules in a terminal that operates 24/7, and be available for call-out and overtime.

•Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
