Job Summary

The Associate Director, International Tax Provision is responsible for assisting with the International Tax Provision process working closely with the AVP International Tax Provision to ensure an accurate and timely tax estimate and foreign account reconciliations related to MVWC’s non-U.S. entities.

Expected Contributions

The Associate Director, International Tax Provision will:

  • Research and document non-US ASC 740 tax reporting requirements.

  • Work closely with the MVWC finance team, international tax team and local country controllers as well as external advisor to capture US GAAP and local country GAAP differences as well as local country GAAP and local tax law differences in MVWC’s foreign income tax accounts under ASC 740 for all non-US entities.

  • Work closely with local MVW finance associates and external advisors to ensure periodic estimated income tax payments are accurate and timely filed with local jurisdictional agencies and these payments are accurately captured and reconciled in the non-US entity’s general ledger on a quarterly basis.

  • Ensure tax positions are documented and communicated to the international compliance team for incorporation into the annual non-US income tax returns as well as to ensure the return to provision differences provided by the international tax compliance team are accurately captured in the company’s general ledger.

  • Assist the AVP/International Tax Provision with tax research and processes improvements to ensure compliance with foreign estimated tax filing requirements as well as with tax accounting rules under ASC740 for all non-US entities where MVWC conducts business.

  • Assist the AVP/International Provision to implement and document processes to ensure compliance with SEC rules for accounting for income tax (ASC 740).

  • Assist foreign controllers in understanding the information requirements to ensure complete and accurate information is provided to support US GAAP to local GAAP differences and the differences are accurately captured in the MVWC financial statements.

  • Analyzes and reviews non-US book to tax adjustments to be utilized for periodic estimated payments and quarterly tax provisions, and provides analysis performed to the international compliance team to incorporate into the non-US income tax returns.

  • Analyzes and reviews non-US deferred tax adjustments to ensure they are documented and reconciled to the general ledger on an annual basis.

  • Provides guidance and observations from international tax work to the MVW international compliance team to assist in documenting and reporting financial statement tax risk and work closely to review tax reserve analysis from international compliance team to ensure tax risk is captured in the MVW financials.

  • Assists with tax transformation projects to improve processes for the MVW international tax provision process.

  • Creates efficient and effective tools to report information needed for tax provision and estimated payments for non-US entities.

  • Documents and maintains policies and procedures for the non-U.S. operations.

  • Assist US and non-US tax team members with projects in support of the tax team success.

  • Performs special projects as requested by Senior Management.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance or commensurate experience

  • CPA or Masters of Taxation preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of six years of experience working in corporate tax or similar tax environment. International tax experience preferred.

  • SEC accounting for incomes taxes (ASC 740) experience. OneSource OTP experience preferred.

  • Experience assisting with and managing tax process initiatives.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven, excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

  • Proven ability to adapt to a constantly changing, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
