AssistRx Assistant Controller in Orlando, Florida

The Assistant Controller will work directly with the CFO and Controller in directing all accounting functions. This person is responsible for maintaining an accurate general ledger, A/P, A/R, treasury, and timely month‐end close and reporting. This person will also assist with financial statement preparation, departmental budgets, and tax and audit schedules.

  • Lead and oversee the month-end close process

  • Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.

  • Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.

  • Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses

  • Manages annual audit.

  • Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.

  • Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.

  • Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.

  • Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports

  • Assisting Financial Managers with budgeting and reporting

  • Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles

  • Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation

  • Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies

  • Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes

  • Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Direct supervise employees within the Accounting department.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing; hiring; training; coaching/mentoring; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; professional development; disciplinary actions; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

  • Minimum 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in accounting with demonstrated leadership and management responsibilities in timely month‐end closings and reporting.

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and general finance, accounting procedures and ability to manage daily departmental operations.

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage staff to meet departmental deadlines and attain goals.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with company management, accounting staff, other departments, clients and vendors.
