Advisory Power Platform (Apps and Automate) Developer

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Apps and Automation Engineer for our IT Applications Development and Support Department. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day workload of a team of developers and will lead the individual contributors of this team. This role will be responsible for the development, design, administration, and management of automation solutions. The Automation and AI engineering team is responsible for providing business advantages through application and automation engineering. Our team is geographically dispersed and offers its members the opportunity to work in a remote, in-office or hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and direct a team of application and automation developers.

  • Provide mentoring and leadership for the team.

  • Provide tactical leadership and input to corporate level initiatives.

  • Assist in the development and execution of departmental business.

  • Provide input and assist with managing the departmental budget.

  • Participate in operation & strategy meetings to ensure departmental resources are aligned with the overall strategy, business plan, and project demands.

  • Ensure all employees receive semi‐annual reviews and necessary feedback to provide career and growth opportunities.

  • Responsible for recommending promotions, salary adjustments and end of year bonuses for team members.

  • Oversee hiring and firing within the department.

  • Approve vacation requests, timecards, and business expenses.

  • Assist with technology implementation decisions to reduce risk, maximize impact, and minimize complexity.

  • Network and communicate with stakeholders and proactively seek out opportunities for automation.

  • Support multiple teams, finding and using best practice and emerging technologies.

  • Provide technical oversight and drive development of projects involving future facing technologies and platforms.

  • Work with the business to successfully set expectations and manage priorities.

  • Effectively find problems and provide resolution to root causes.

  • Create technical designs, build, deploy Power Apps, and Power Automate flows.

  • Perform functional requirements gathering.

  • Develop, document, and implement processes in the Power Platform space.

  • Monitor, track, grow the platform usage by training and supporting its users.

  • Troubleshoot, audit, and implement highest level of security.

  • Develop integrations with existing systems.

Required Education/Experience:

  • 3+ years leading a team with management responsibilities.

  • 7+ years of strategizing and implementing database designs.

  • 10+ years of application development and architecture design experience.

  • 12+ years of system support. Working with end users to create new solutions and resolve existing problems.

  • 4+ years of expert level experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate.

  • 3+ years’ experience constructing, managing, and administering Dataverse environments.

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or management information systems from an accredited university.

  • Expert understanding of Standard Development Lifecycle methodologies.

  • Strong experience in product and service management with third party vendors.

  • Must be self-motivated, performing self-guided training/R&D to be recognized as a corporate expert in this field.

  • Effective verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional management acumen to accomplish initiatives. As well as leadership skills to guide and encourage others.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of management.

  • Experience constructing processes to repeatedly handle complex problems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative to take ownership of tasks.

  • Ability to work successfully within a geographically distributed team.

  • Strong work ethic with an attention to detail.

  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Optional Experience:

  • Knowledge of one or more programming languages.

  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 F&O and Dynamics CRM.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps.

  • Understanding of Data modeling strategies.

  • Knowledge of the range of Azure services.

POWER is a fun engineering firm. That might seem contradictory to some, but it works for us!

 Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $132K-$141K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
