CITY OF OREM Concrete/Asphalt Laborer in OREM, Utah

Employment Opportunity

The Orem Public Works Department is hiring for Concrete / Asphalt Laborers. This is a non-benefited position working in the Streets section. Employees in this position may be assigned to do concrete finishing or asphalt paving; experience in one or the other is desirable, but we are also willing to train! Concrete / Asphalt Laborers are responsible for performing manual tasks related to the construction and repair of streets, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. Tasks may include: trench patching, road overlay, cement finishing, and clean-up. May work in congested traffic at times. Operates light and heavy equipment and a wide variety of hand tools, and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience in general construction practices and working with and around heavy equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, and compaction equipment is preferred but not required. Due to equipment and City vehicle operation, applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
