Position Announcement

 

Utah Valley University is seeking an Admissions Counselor. The Admissions counselor establishes and administers programs for recruitment of students in undergraduate programs. Develops programs and marketing materials. Visits schools and makes presentations to groups and individuals.

 

Summary of Responsibilities

 

• Provides recruitment counseling, planning, and advising to potential students. Assists students in the completion of their admissions application and provides instruction regarding applications for financial assistance.

• Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials.

• Visits middle schools, high schools, and colleges and speaks to groups and/or individual students and serves as a liaison to those schools. Coordinates outreach activities with school counselors to promote university partnerships. Coordinates community workshops and retreats and arranges visits from prospective students and parents.

• Assists with maintaining recruiting records of prospective and current students and/or potential degree candidates.

• Creates and distributes resource materials for student recruitment programs. Develops mentorship programs and analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs. Develops strategies for program evaluation.

• Prepares reports and proposals and responds to inquiries from students, parents and state and community agencies.

• Participates in the development of operating goals and objectives and recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree or any combination of post high school education and experience totaling four years.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Must work evenings and weekends as required.

Out-of-state travel required.

 

Licenses or Certifications:

Valid driver's license required.
