Job Description:

This position will report directly to the Associate Manager of Facilities, under general supervision of the Facilities Manager. This position would be 2nd shift, 2:30 pm to 12:00 a.m. on the 9/80 standard schedule.

The Facility Technician (HVAC) will work under general supervision to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance using manufacturer publications, blueprints, schematics and locally generated instructions. Must be familiar with OSHA and NEC standards. Will be required to follow work procedures, work on facilities, and production equipment, as well as perform general maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • 70% - HVAC Maintenance - Work with, troubleshoot and repair plant HVAC equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as HVAC units, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, etc.

  • 20% - Installation of new equipment.

  • 10% - 6S general shop upkeep, cleaning, or organizing

  • Must be very safety and environmentally conscious.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Virginia HVAC Journeyman, Master or Contractor License a plus.

  • Strong electrical experience / training in repairs in an industrial setting required.

  • Proficient computer skills (such as MS Word and Excel, including use of formulas) strongly desired.
