[Shift 10:30am -7:30pm (but may vary) Job Summary: Responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen. Responsible for Cook 1 employees in expediting various job assignments as needed during the service and preparation of all food items.   • Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
  • Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet established high standards through broad knowledge of cooking techniques, stock and soup preparation and ability to make all five mother sauces.

  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing and frequently walking.
  • Works indoors in a well-lit, well-ventilated area and occasionally works outside during special functions.
  • May be exposed to wet floors, odors, and extremely hot equipment and food throughout the workday
  • May be subject to extreme temperatures.

  • Employee should have a broad knowledge of cooking techniques, stock and soup preparation and ability to make all five mother sauces.
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. The individual must be able to transport and lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Must have good hand, arm and finger dexterity.
  • Repetitive motion is often required in the performance of daily tasks.
