Summary:

Security Guards are responsible for the safety of employees and visitors on site and must remain alert, looking for anything out of the ordinary throughout their shift. In an emergency, guards may call for assistance from police, fire, or ambulance services. Our security guards will be armed.Shift: 3pm-12am

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Protect the organizations customers, staff, and property.

Monitor alarms and closed-circuit TV cameras

Control access for employees, visitors, and outside contractors

Conduct security checks over a specified area

Write comprehensive reports outlining what they observed while on patrol

Detain criminal violators.

Lock doors and gates of entrances and exits to secure buildings.

Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

Patrol industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates

Perform door checks for all exterior doors at least 3 times per shift.

Assist HR staff when needed.

Must maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Qualifications/Requirements/Education:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must possess or be able to obtain a State of Tennessee armed private security officers license/certification.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous law enforcement experience preferred but not required

    • Good Communication Skills
    • Firearms carry permit and regular training compliance
