Hartwick College Database and ERP Systems Analyst in Oneonta, New York

Title: Database and ERP Systems Analyst

Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Information Systems, the Database and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems Analyst supports the use of the College’s institutional information system, namely Ellucian’s Colleague. Specifically, this position provides support and training for College staff relating to the general use of the Colleague system. This position also assists administrative offices in enhancing their use of the Colleague ERP system and in optimizing business practices that rely on ERP data. Other duties include assisting in ERP system management, software upgrades, and integration with third party software.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes reporting needs and provides training to other departments for reporting and analysis tools.

  • Provides programming support to facilitate reporting from Colleague, import data to Colleague, maintains interfaces to other environments.

  • Analyzes and troubleshoots problems in Colleague.

  • Adopts new processes and procedures, writes documentation of queries, downloads, and other processes and provides trainings for stakeholders as needed.

  • Works collaboratively with the Integration Programmer/Analyst to develop and maintain integrations between Colleague and various third-party systems.

  • Provides supplemental support to other Information Systems staff.

  • Works with other departments within Information Technology to implement technology projects involving Colleague.

  • Participate in significant campus activities including, Welcome Weekend, True Blue Weekend, and Commencement Weekend.

  • Comply with all applicable College, Federal, State, local and associational regulations.

  • As a representative of the College, is expected to comport themself in a professional manner at all times, both on and off campus.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree in computer/information science or related field from an accredited college or university with at least three (3) years of experience with complex higher education ERP system; Ellucian Colleague experience desired.

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of relational database, theories, principles, and practices.

  • Query-writing proficiency with MS SQL Server, ODBC.

  • Working knowledge of UniData DBMS is desirable.

  • Basic proficiency with UNIX, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products.

  • Proficiency with Ellucian's Colleague Studio development software.

  • Programming proficiency with JavaScript.

  • Project management experience.

  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills for training and writing documentation.

  • Highly developed communication skills, across all media (written, oral, presentation etc.) are essential, as well as a demonstrated ability to plan, communicate and engender buy-in for projects, priorities and goals.

  • Willingness to work both “hands on” and conceptually as needed; ability to juggle multiple priorities (including a mix of operational responsibilities and projects) within an environment characterized by changing technical and support requirements.

  • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential matters.

Pay Range: $55,341 - $66,791 annual salary
