Community Advocate

Opportunities for Otsego is seeking a compassionate, community-focused professional to work with Otsego County agencies and organizations to determine problem-solving strategies based on OFO's Community Needs Assessment and advocate on behalf of persons seeking assistance. As Community Advocate you will:

  • Act as the agency point of contact for persons seeking general assistance from OFO, providing comprehensive intake and needs assessment

  • Make appropriate referrals to OFO programs, community organizations and service providers, providing follow-up as necessary

  • Advocate with community organizations and service providers on behalf of persons seeking assistance, facilitating linkages and referrals and providing follow up as necessary

  • Provide resource and referral information to agency clients, staff, the general public, and community professionals as requested

    Qualifications:

Associates Degree and two years of relevant experience or a combination of educational and practical experiences; valid New York State driver’s license. ​ Pay Range Guide: Standard Start Rate - education and experience meet job requirements Advanced Start Rate - education and experience exceed job requirements (subject to approval)
