    Job Summary

  • Coordinates patient appointments and care to be received.

  • Demonstrates general computer skills and a good understanding of the current hospital and clinic computer systems.

  • Communicates all necessary information with appropriate department regarding patient/customer care.

  • Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.

  • Provides information to customers within scope of knowledge or refers to appropriate individuals.

  • Maintains up to date documentation by provider notes, test results and hospital records in the EMR in the appropriate place and in a timely manner.

  • Verifies that an encounter form is completed for every patient and is routed to the Business Office daily.

  • Calls patients for preventative or follow up services as directed by the provider.

  • Conducts follow up calls to patients.

  • Calls other professional offices for patient care coordination.

  • Looks ahead on the weekly/daily schedule to request records to be scanned.

  • Acts as a Receptionist for coverage to be present at the pod area during clinic hours.

  • Politely greets and directs customers to the appropriate department and/or personnel.

  • Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties.

  • Answers multiple line telephone for the pod and routes calls promptly.

  • Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette and the ability to operate the phone system.

  • Maintains work area and pod waiting area in a neat and orderly manner.

  • Covers pod waiting area at all times when customers are expected and secures a replacement when leaving unattended during breaks, lunches, or when working on a special project.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent outside study.

  • Associate’s degree preferred but not required.

  • Related medical experience preferred.

  • Basic computer skills required.

    Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; PRN (as needed)

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
