NY1498961 Environmental Services Aide. Job Summary: The Environmental Services Aide at Oneida Health Hospital is responsible for performing routine manual cleaning tasks under the supervision of the Environmental Services Department. This position requires some weekend availability. The ideal candidate will be efficient, thorough, and possess good communication skills. They will work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine manual cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning floors, stairs, hallways, elevators, fixtures, and restrooms.
  • Collect and dispose of trash in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Refill towel dispensers and ensure adequate supply of toiletries in restrooms.
  • Assist with refinishing floors as needed to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
  • Transport soiled linens to the laundry department for cleaning.
  • Adhere to cleaning methods, procedures, and safety protocols established by the Environmental Services Department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, following oral and written directions accurately.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a team environment to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide assistance and support to other hospital departments as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift heavy objects.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning tasks for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in environments with exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of custodial experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • No specific licenses or certifications required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and follow established cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work weekends and adjust to changing work schedules.
