Position Summary:

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ServiceNow applications, as well as administering the ServiceNow platform to ensure its optimal performance and functionality. The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of both development and administration aspects of the ServiceNow platform, coupled with extensive experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Service Management (CSM) processes and workflows.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Working on an agile team implementing core ServiceNow modules such as Case, Incident, Problem, Knowledge, Change, etc.

  • Supporting the implementation of the CMDB

  • Design and develop custom scoped applications on the ServiceNow Platform to meet business requirements, including implementation of client scripts, business rules, workflows, and custom service portal widgets.

  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement data interfaces with other enterprise application systems.

  • Create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts and ACLs including advanced scripting of each.

  • Develop and manage operational metrics reporting and dashboards.

  • Support the development and analysis of customer requirements and assist with the development of user stories.

  • Supporting the assessment of current state service desk processes and mapping them (gap analysis) to the ServiceNow out-of-the-box (OOB) ITSM and CSM processes, along with custom development.

  • Contribute to roadmap and strategy presentations that align to organizational goals and resources.

  • Troubleshoot bugs, fix defects, and support users of applications developed by the application development team.

  • Perform code reviews to ensure that the quality bar is being met regarding coding standards, integration, extensibility, and security.

  • Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of application design and code generation techniques used to train other developers on ServiceNow system software.

  • Develop enhancements for applications developed by the application development team.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a similar technical discipline, or comparable industry experience

  • Minumum of 4 years in ServiceNow configuration and development experience

  • Knowledge of JavaScript. Familiarity with UI, SQL, HTML and CSS. Knowledge of XML and structural programming concepts.

  • ServiceNow Certification - ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, ServiceNow ITSM certification and ServiceNow CSM certification

  • Knowledge of development on the ServiceNow Platform including client and server scripting, ServiceNow REST APIs, and custom widget development in Service Portal.

  • Experience with use of Agile methodologies for software development.

  • Experience with defining solutions, implementing, maintaining, and/or supporting integrated computing environments in an enterprise environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills are necessary to be able to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Effective organization, collaboration, planning, problem solving, and analytical skills.
