Conagra Sanitation Manager in Omaha, Nebraska

We are looking for a Sanitation Manager to join our R&D Team remotely! In this role, you will travel approximately 70% of the time to assigned facilities.

As the Sanitation Manager, reporting to the Sanitation Director, you will manage the enterprise sanitation and pest management operations within the Consumer Foods Sanitation team. You will supervise and manage the corporate plant sanitation support function for the organization.

What you'll do in this role:

  • Support plant sanitation in the effective use of chemicals, COP and CIP cleaning processes, Dry Sanitation processes, Environmental sanitation and Sanitary design.

  • Implement sanitation assurance initiatives, pest control and platform regulatory compliance programs

  • Set standards for maintaining CIP equipment, Sanitation Assurance, Sanitation PM, Continuous improvements and Cost optimization programs

  • Manage the sanitation cycle-time reductions, extended cleaning request validations, sanitation chemical cost reductions, sanitation assurance/effectiveness programs, integrations.

  • Investigate sanitation issues, which are resulting in product contamination, reduced shelf-life, or customer rejection of products. (Troubleshooting)

  • Work with 3rd party providers and others to maximize technical expertise, optimize supplier products, information, equipment, research new cleaning technologies and techniques and coordinate trials.

  • Design authority and collaborate with other support functions in all Enterprise driven engineering projects to ensure sanitary design objectives have been met

  • Responsible for Enterprise-wide training and education of plant sanitation leaders to insure sanitation is implemented as a business.

  • Provide recommendations for equipment and machinery-based change.

  • There are no direct reports for this role currently.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • B.A / B.S. degree preferred or equivalent sanitation certifications

  • Minimum 5 years of food industrial experience in food sanitation.

  • Advanced knowledge of FDA, USDA and HACCP and Pest Control.

  • Sanitation Management / Sanitation Business skills

  • Excellent understanding of sanitary design, sanitation and pest management in food processing.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes and food safety

  • Advanced knowledge in using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.

  • Strong relationship building skills.

  • Excellent understanding of microbiological organisms and their impact on process design, sanitary design and sanitation.

  • Experience with government regulatory requirements in the processing of food.

  • Spend 30% of time on the various facilities shop floor observing process workflow, equipment operations, and that sanitation guidelines are being followed.

  • Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible company representative.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk and/or stand for up to 8 (or more, possibly) hours a day

  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis

  • Possibly pushing/pulling various plant materials and/or equipment

  • Will possibly maneuver in cramped/confined spaces

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours (or more) per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies

  • Frequent bending and/or potential crawling; must be able to move safely and freely around machinery

  • Travel by airplane

  • Driving a company or rental vehicle for up to 8 hours if needed in all types of weather conditions.

We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future.

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary: $100,000.00 - $147,000.00

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
