Description of Position

Our Omaha based client is seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to join their team, specializing in financial reporting, business analysis, forecasting, trend analysis, project accounting, accounts receivable analysis, and month-over-month balance change analysis. As a Plant Controller, you will play a key role in providing critical insights into their financial performance, assisting in strategic decision-making, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal reporting standards.

• Generate and analyze financial reports to provide management with a clear understanding of the company's financial health.

Business Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and forecasts to support business decisions.

• Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis.

Forecasting and Trend Analysis:

• Lead the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.

• Perform trend analysis to identify patterns and deviations, assisting in proactive decision-making.

• Monitor and report on budget variances, recommending corrective actions as needed.

Project Accounting:

• Manage project accounting processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of project costs and revenues.

• Collaborate with project managers to assess project financial performance and profitability.

• Participate in project cost analysis and resource allocation discussions.

Accounts Receivable Analysis:

• Analyze accounts receivable aging reports, identify delinquencies, and implement collection strategies.

• Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to resolve outstanding issues and improve cash flow.

• Month-over-Month Balance Change Analysis:

• Perform detailed month-over-month balance change analysis to identify significant fluctuations.

• Investigate and explain the reasons behind balance changes, working to rectify discrepancies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

• Experience in project accounting and accounts receivable analysis.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining financial integrity.
