Insight Global Manager, Project Engineering in Omaha, Nebraska

Job Description

This company is one of the country's leading renewable energy developers, with more than 25 GW of renewable projects in development across the United States and significant growth planned in the near future. We are seeking to bring on a Manager, Project Engineering position. This role will be responsible for (a) performing and managing all technical aspects of energy project development (b) technical due diligence of assets for potential acquisition, and (c) when necessary/needed, technical support of the power generation fleet. The role will be focused on conventional natural gas-fueled power plant technologies, including simple cycle combustion turbine peakers, combined cycle, and reciprocating engines. Assignments may also include technical support for carbon dioxide ("CO2") capture, pipeline, and storage projects. Future assignments could include involvement in other energy sector technology verticals, such as wind, solar, and battery energy storage. This candidate will be a key member of interdisciplinary business teams. As such, the candidate will work closely with other disciplines including: management, development, public relations, environmental, real estate, third party consultants and counterparties (suppliers, service providers, customers, and partners).

Skills and Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution;

 · 5-10 years in energy sector, engineering design, technology, and/or operations roles;

 · Prior experience with combustion turbine and/or reciprocating engine project design, permitting, and/or construction.

 · Some domestic travel to project sites, conferences, and counterparty offices will be required. · 10+ years in power sector project engineering roles.

 · Registered Professional Engineer (PE).

 · Experience in the development phase of projects

 · Experience with Thermoflow suite of software programs.

 · Prior experience with design and construction of pipeline projects.

 · Familiar with bulk electric systems interconnection processes.

 · Familiar with rules, regulations and standards that impact the power industry.

 · Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

 · Python or Visual Basis computer programming skills. null
