Construction Estimator – office locations in Omaha, NE or Clarks, NE

Description

Responsible for leading and preparing budgets, estimates, and proposals for construction and fabrication projects in the industrial, oil and gas, and railroad industries. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and engineers in evaluating project schedules, construction strategies, and project development.

Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Prepare and analyze construction documents, specifications, drawings, and plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.

  • Critically analyze bid documents and understand the risk and opportunities and articulate those to management.

  • Perform take-offs and prepare construction estimates.

  • Interface with internal departments and external resources on proposal development.

  • Prepare and present proposals and estimates to management, stakeholders, and customers.

  • Assist with the project transition from estimating to engineering, fabrication and construction divisions.

  • Identify qualified subcontractors and vendors and obtain required estimates from these entities.

  • Maintain valued relationships with key stakeholders including customers, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Evaluate and analyze historical productivity data to incorporate into future proposals and estimates.

    Requirements:

  • Five years of estimating or project management experience.

  • Knowledge and experience with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors is preferred.

  • Project scheduling experience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is preferred.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.

  • Problem-solving abilities.
