**[Building Maintenance Technician

**[Summary [This position performs intermediate skilled work for regular cleaning, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on City building systems and equipment, and related work as assigned. This position performs manual work of routine difficulty involving moderate physical exertion, frequent lifting and moving of heavy equipment, and occasional non[-[routine and weekend hours. This is a 40 hour per week position with full benefits.

  1. Knowledge of tools, equipment and material used in an assigned work area.
  2. Knowledge of general cleaning practices, and safety practices and guidelines
  3. Ability to work independently and efficiently without routine supervision.
  4. Ability to assess the assigned work and determine necessary tools and supplies to complete the tasks.
  5. Ability to exercise care to avoid accidents.
  6. Ability to perform strenuous activities under adverse weather conditions such as removal of snow or litter outdoors.
  7. Ability to communicate and interpret both oral and written information effectively.
  8. Skilled in working as part of a team.
  9. Skilled in reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and writing simple correspondence electronically and on paper.
  10. Skilled in basic mathematics: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, using fractions and decimals; and computing ratios and percentages.
