Meta Senior Level Designer - Sanzaru in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Summary:

Sanzaru Games is looking for a talented Senior Level Designer. Senior Level Designers will help assist in daily level workload as well as managing a small design tasking. As a Senior Level designer, you are responsible for assisting in identifying and creating a clear workflow and pipelines for the level design team. Senior Level Designers work closely with all disciplines to help ensure game levels have fun scenarios, are well-composed and navigable, and are well integrated into the game’s overarching narrative and vision. Sanzaru is looking for designers with the passion and talent for creating engaging worlds. We are big gamers at the studio and want to hire game developers with the same passion and fun for building games.

Required Skills:

Senior Level Designer - Sanzaru Responsibilities:

  1. Identify workflow issues for clean fast team iteration

  2. Help establish level design pipelines and help the team adhere to best practices

  3. Work closely with leadership to ensure levels hit important narrative and game mechanics beats

  4. Level scripting and setup using script-based languages like UE4 blueprint

  5. Design and establish a detailed level plan from paper to 3D block out and final art implementation

  6. Collaborate with Environment Artists to create a level’s feel and overall composition

  7. Work with the level, team to manage assets and data associated with each level

  8. Develop a thorough understanding of hardware limitations and how to design around them

  9. Work with systems designers and engineers on global game systems needed to support levels

  10. Gather and act on game test feedback with the aim of creating the best experience for all players

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of game industry experience working at Sr or Lead capacity

  2. Experience managing and mentoring designers

  3. Experience identifying design issues for level design and flow

  4. Intermediate knowledge of Maya or another major 3D modeling program

  5. Experience multi-tasking and adapting easily to change

  6. Experience in shifting focus as needed

  7. Experience to be open to free form feedback

$137,000/year to $193,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
