Job Skills / Requirements

United Protective Services is currently recruiting a retail security officer to work at a large retail shopping center in Oklahoma City.

Schedule

The position is currently working:

4pm-Midnight Friday-Tuesday

40 Hours per week

Pay: $16.00

Your Normal Day Duties:

  • Completing reports based off the observation, monitoring, and witnessing of any potential security, safety violations, or maintenance emergencies.

  • Maintaining and securing client's property by monitoring, patrolling, and conducting different equipment control checks throughout shifts while on duty.

  • Maintaining the United Protective Services' "Brand"- this is accomplished by upholding the standard that’s been set from the top down to ensure we continuously maintain our reputation as a first-class contract security firm.

  • Handling the equipment in and around property carefully and confirming the site equipment is operational and hazard-free right when the shift starts and right when the shift ends.

  • Completing and then checking tasks off the Site Checklist to better communicate with the next officer on duty what was, or was not, accomplished during your shift.

  • Conducting interior and exterior patrols of the campus. It is our presence and activity that are the single biggest factors in deterring crime for this site.

  • Conducting mobile patrols using a company truck to secure perimeter of the property.

  • Responding to emergencies.

  • Assisting visitors.

  • Locking/unlocking doors.

  • Turning on exterior lights.

  • Any other duties as directed by supervisor.

Successful Officers in this Role:

  • The candidate we select for this position must have strong customer service skills.

  • Candidates once hired will be working with the general public giving directions to stores, parking areas, and areas to eat around the property.

  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Exercise good judgement and maintain situational awareness.

  • Possess baseline problem-solving skills.

  • Champion a team-first mentality; when everyone is doing their tasks, it makes it that much easier to complete all the tasks in a day.
