Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Manager of Accounting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

BASIC PURPOSE: Manager of Love Family Office accounting staff. Oversight of all Love family personal finances, investment activities, private foundations, and personal risk management policies. Collaborate with the Love’s income tax team, financial reporting team and other various corporate departments as family needs require. Serve as a team member to provide support of shareholder governance, education, and communication initiatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation and review of quarterly financials for various entities to include individuals, trusts, and partnerships

  • Review of monthly cash flows, including estimating sources and uses, as well as other performance reports

  • Assist with cash management to ensure capital calls, distributions, and cash movements are sent/received

  • Review weekly payables and sign checks or approve funds transfers

  • Review and approve monthly aircraft timeshare billing and other inter-company or inter-family billings

  • Maintain and manage flow charts associated with family entities

  • Organize and help in preparing for and documenting family meetings to include quarterly family planning meetings, quarterly G3 meetings, and annual family planning and education meeting

  • Manage team of accounting staff

  • Perform procedures for reducing risk of loss (financial, physical, or other negative impact) to Love Family, such as managing life insurance and property insurance policy premium payments, annual renewals and periodic updates to policies

  • Maintain document repository of all Love Family governance policies

  • Maintain meeting minutes of all family meetings

  • Help develop and enhance controls and policies and procedures for the Love Family Office

  • Other duties assigned as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:

  • High School degree or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or finance

  • CPA preferred

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years public or family office experience

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Skills:

  • Hard Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word; experience in Accounting CS

  • Soft Skills: Conscientious, dependable, detail oriented, self motivated, and trustworthy individual who can handle corporate and personal matters with absolute discretion and professionalism. Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator

  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision

  • Possible evening/weekend work
