The Role
We have an immediate opening for a Lead Transaction Tax Analyst responsible for data management and analysis in support of team efforts to implement updates to various tax systems.
This position will also require keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation, preparing GL account reconciliations and completing analysis with recommendations within established deadlines, and meaningfully contributing to mission-critical tax projects, internal customer support, integrity/transparency/controls, and back-office scalability/productivity.
The Main Responsibilities
Perform GL reconciliations of tax-oriented accounts, run SAP queries/reports, research open items including conferring with teams (e.g. Billing, Accounts Payable, Tax Compliance, and Accounting) who post journal entries to tax accounts, identify/document open item causality, propose/coordinate/execute open item remediation (including adjustment journal entries and tax return credits/refunds,) and maintain tax account reconciliations in the OneStream reconciliation tool.
Share Transaction Tax team’s responsibility to provide useful information to internal customers in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion. This information may include tax estimates, tax exemptions, recurring and ad-hoc data pulls/analysis, returns, manual credits, charge id mapping, BTE lease JE’s, Revenue Summary/Line Count/MOU/TR reports, etc.)
Provide testing support for tax data warehouse (TaxMart) necessitated by system migrations and database enhancements.
Assist with acquiring, reconciling, and loading billing system data into the data warehouse for all billing systems.
Support GTP Leasing System reporting and the validation of its taxation rules.
Conduct data analysis of large volumes of data to support various tax billing system and ERP system efforts.
Meaningfully contribute to initiatives that leverage such tools as Alteryx to create efficiencies and cost savings by improving systems or methods both within and outside the Tax Department. Refine and document processes and monitor systems to manage workload while ensuring data integrity.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3-5 years of job related experience, preferably in Transaction Tax.
Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally within the department.
Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines in a high-performance environment.
Preferred
CPA
Demonstrated skills in analytical platforms and business intelligence tools (Alteryx, Power BI, etc.).
Working knowledge of Vertex and SAP.
Knowledge of telecommunications industry and taxation.
Strong analytical skills and ability to organize and summarize large amounts of data for management review.
Ability to work well in a high-performance environment.
Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$80510 - $107340 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
$84740 - $112980 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
$88980 - $118630 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$93210 - $124280 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
