Overview

TheGeotechnical Engineer - Energy(Project Development Engineer 'PDE') is part of GSI’s client management team and responsible for identifying and pursuing prospective projects with key customers in the Energy market, from lead generation to conversion.

Responsibilities

How will you make a difference?

• Apply the best-in-class engineering know-how towards developing long term solutions for assigned projects in the selected market. • Regularly support key account managers with attending and hosting client meetings, trade shows, sales meetings, and other miscellaneous industry-related events to understand opportunities to serve, educate clients, and build relationships. • Challenge the status quo of the territory and industry, identifying new ways to improve the client experience. • Create and deliver technical presentations that are compelling, accurate, and informative. • Stay current with industry trends and expand industry knowledge. This includes becoming an expert on GSI’s products and services as well as industry design guidance. • Develop technical roadmaps to support the national sales strategy. • Conduct site visits to assess geohazards and assist in building proposals. • Timely response to client requests. • Develop and lead a portfolio of accounts.

    Job Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical), Geology, or related field

  • 8+ years applying engineering expertise to develop solutions for projects in the selected market including site visits, and proposal development.

  • Business Development expereince is preferred.

  • Specific industry experience is a big plus, focused on suitability and alignment of related experience, job requirements, and the ability to execute the roles and responsibilities within this position.

    Physical Demands & Working Environment

  • Light to Medium

  • Ability to physically make field visits, walk steep slopes, and traverse geohazards during site assessments.

  • Travel: As required, but heavy travel will be required.

  • Work Location: Employee must be located in the United States and within a 1 hour commute of a major airport.

    Salary: $175,000 annually
