Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) in Oklahoma City , is seeking a broad range of or experience levels, including Mid-Level and Senior Airworthiness System Engineers.

Oklahoma City Certification Engineers uses Systems Engineering Principles to accomplish Military Airworthiness, FAA, and EASA certification efforts for commercial derivative and military aircraft modifications in support of their customers for development and modification programs in Oklahoma City.

The Boeing OKC site focuses on providing our customers' fleets with timely, high quality engineered modernization upgrades and modification solutions on a variety platform such as government executive transports, surveillance and bomber aircraft. Our site offers diverse product opportunities in a dynamic workplace environment. Onsite – This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead technical airworthiness planning and verification support including development of airworthiness plans, basis of certifications, means of compliance, and certification activities for aircraft subsystems with integrated product teams (IPTs) and customer counterparts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Lead and coordinate airworthiness activities with other airworthiness engineers as well as internal engineering disciplines.

  • Interface with design, system safety, and test engineering disciplines to obtain Airworthiness artifacts and compile Airworthiness documentation for compliance.

  • Translate customer airworthiness requirements into criteria and requirements.

  • Negotiate resolution to internal differences regarding airworthiness plans, certification basis, and compliance.

  • Interface with Office of Airworthiness, Program IPTs, Program Office, and Customer community

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3 or more years of engineering experience

  • FAA certification or Airworthiness experience

  • Experience executing Systems Engineering processes at the project or program level

  • Experience in the development of Certification Plans

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences to clearly convey information and ideas

Typical Education/Experience:

Mid-Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Shift Work Statement:

Summary pay range for Level 3 $90,950-123,050

Summary pay range for Level 4 $111,350 – 150,650
