Title: Financial Coordinator - BSG $24.04 - $28.85 / Posted Thru: 11-8-23

Location:  Remote/Virtual - Must live in Michigan - Occasional In-Person Meetings

Purpose: Under the direction of the Senior Finance Manager, serve as a Financial Coordinator to the Business Solutions Group (BSG). Duties include monthly company credit card preparation; monitoring expenditures; analyzing accounts; producing financial reports; and performing a variety of accounting/financial related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a financial liaison to MPHI Finance & Contracts office and main point of contact to disburse information coming from this office related to requests, deadlines, etc. Understand and ensure compliance with MPHI financial policies, procedures, and deadlines. Process payable invoices, subcontractor payable invoices, credit card statements, Verizon bills and employee expense reimbursements/advances and ensure timely submission to the Finance & Contracts office for payment. Keep a log to track status of vendor payables, subcontractor payables, employee reimbursements to assure payments have been made to recipients. Assist program director in developing budgets for new projects and amend current project budgets as needed. Assist program director with business development needs related to budget and budget narrative for submission of grants. Complete data entry into budget status templates weekly from SAP and work directly with the program director and/or senior finance manager on any identified issue(s). Update project status meeting agenda weekly and prior to meeting. Participate in budget meetings with program director and/or senior finance manager to analyze costs, project future expenditures, and assist in minimizing lapse funding. Assist in gathering appropriate information to input into subcontract template as necessary for execution of subcontracts. Assist with entering budgets, workplans and/or quarterly reports into EGrAMS, the state's reporting system. Track and monitor FTE of staff for accuracy and potential errors. Identify and investigate inaccuracies within project accounts and work with staff to correct inaccuracies. Research, prepare, and verify a variety of financial data to provide information, strategies, and recommendations on accounts. Complete journal vouchers to ensure expenses are coded appropriately. Review financial reports and ensure allocated funds meet grant requirements. Participate with other financial liaisons (as needed) with the creation of the MPHI financial process manual. Participate in the creation of the BSG Invoice Tracking System. Ensure timely submission of tasks. Possess advanced and proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel. Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity; treats program information as confidential. Strong commitment to MPHI Core Values and a demonstrated history of use in action. Maintain a positive, strong, credible, professional, and interpersonal relationship with all parties relevant to MPHI projects and always represents the best interest of MPHI. Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalency is required. Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three years related experience in accounts payable, budget compliance, record keeping, financial report preparation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
