Job Designation
The Sr. Contracts Manager oversees the contracting and agreement processes for site-specific commercial and governmental programs across multiple Parker Meggitt Braking Systems Division sites, with personal presence at one of those sites. Prepares and reviews contractual documentation / agreements and provides commercial related advice in accordance with corporate policy and applicable legal requirements. Provides full life cycle contractual support to the Divisional sites from proposal to closure to ensure the protection against exploitation of Parker Meggitt Intellectual Property, revenue and profit. Works with colleagues to maximize the benefit of the business case for all opportunities.
Job Core Responsibilities
• Works alongside Business Development, Engineering, Programs, Finance other functions to develop contractual partnering and supply relationships to best develop and leverage Parker Meggitt Intellectual Property and business relationships. • Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to site leadership, site functional departments and Contract Management team. • Responsible for generating, drafting, reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions for site specific business matters; compliance matrices; and making recommendations in accordance with Parker Meggitt policies. • Coordinates flow-downs of contractual requirements with all functional departments including program management, engineering, product support, finance, quality, supply chain management, manufacturing, as required. • Contractual support and administration with advice throughout the contract life cycle: Bid Approval Requests, claim management, sensitive or formal communications with customers. • Delivery of internal Request for Approval applications for claims and assertions within their responsibility • Evaluate compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and corporate policies and applicable business practices and procedures. • Advises functional departments of contractual rights and obligations; functions as subject matter expert. • Negotiates with Customers regarding out of scope assertions, pricing and claims, utilizing their intimate knowledge of contractual obligations of all parties. • Provides commercial input related to work transfer & sourcing activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal and external regulations and policies. • Utilizes legal resources and other subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed. • Ensures that all sales contracts and commercial matters are efficiently documented, prioritized and tracked in the contracts repository and management system (e.g., Salesforce and SEAL). • Be the point of contact for matters to be referred to the Parker Meggitt Braking Systems Division and Group Legal for information, validation or approval. • Attends and leads customer dialogue related to the contractual topics under their responsibility.
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor degree in related field required Years' Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial/contracting processes and application Skills: • Expert knowledge of commercial and contractual principles and best practices • Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions and high risk terms • Excellent presentation and communication skills • Solid problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities • Able to plan and direct technical efforts to meet team objectives • Excellent negotiation skills • Demonstrated financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and disseminate commercial and contractual context in complex claims and assertions • Strong interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion; effective oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to details • Ability and willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing quality or timeliness • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance • Self starter and leader with the ability to draw on support when required
